The Smurfs

We are finally in to our new house. We have been so excited to get in. The house we purchased the interior paint was completely blue. I have pictures to prove how blue this house was...

This is our front entry.

A view from the living to dining room/kitchen.

The upstairs bathroom.
A view into two of the bedrooms.
and finally a view in our master bedroom.
We seriously purchased the smurfs house. I loved the layout of the house but was not in love with all the blue color. Our Realtor informed us that because this was a HUD home we would be able to qualify for a loan that would make it possible for us to make a few home improvements. Wahoo!!! We were so happy for that information but the type of loan needed not a lot of banks or credit unions in Nevada will do so he recommended a mortgage company that could do that for us. Well, on the day we signed our papers our lender talked to us about getting the necessary improvements done on our home. To make a long, long story short our lender had miss informed us and we were not going to be able to get the improvements done like we had planned. We were not told about the error until one week after we had the keys and moved in. Needless to say our home buying experience has been a nightmare.

On the day that I received the call from our lender, my selfless mom and dad called. They had been planning on coming to help us get a few things cleaned but when they found out about the nightmare we were going through with our lender, decided to come help us get a few rooms painted. My mom drove down on Wednesday and my dad was planning on driving on Friday. (The day my dad was planning on leaving he threw his back out so badly that he couldn't move. We missed seeing him and hope his back is doing better!) I only have a few pictures of my mom on this trip because she was in her paint clothes 90 percent of the time.
With her help we were able to paint the entire upstairs of our house before she left. Of course, lots of other things were accomplished while she was here (scrubbing tile floors, steam cleaning carpets, and most importantly, playing with Dean).
I can't thank both of my parents enough for the help they have been. I have the two most unselfish parents. Not only did they come help us in a time of need but they did it while they were in the process of their own big home improvement. They are the best examples of unselfishness, charity and love. I learned so many things while my mom was here. She has a wealth of knowledge in so many things. I want to be like her some day. My parents are absolutely amazing in every way. Thank you so much for coming to our aid! We love you so much.

Sounds just like Mom & Dad :) I love the pic of mom throwing Dean up. Super cute! I am sad you changed the blue, I am sure Dean would've loved to grow up telling people he lived in the smurfs house :) :) Love the new color though!!!!
