Diaries of a Green Keeper

Chapter 4: Cool!

Living and working in the desert doesn't boast too many cool animals like back home in Utah. However, we do run into big spiders and scorpions every once-in-a-while. A couple months ago one of my workers came across a big'ol scorpion. Like anyone would do, he stopped what he was doing, herded it into an empty gatorade bottle and kept it with him on his mower until he found me. I thought it would be real aggressive and try to sting me or something, but it just sort of played dead and didn't move a whole lot. I kept it in a bucket and showed Kaytie later after work and she didn't even get scared.
(I lost the picture of the actual one, it was about 6 inches long)
A couple weeks ago another one of my workers found a tarantula. Just like the other guy, he herded it into some thing and rode around with it until he found me. It was more fun to play with than the scorpion. It would crawl up my shoe and be a good sport when I would kick it off because it was getting to high up.
I can't wait for the next creature to come crawling along!

Blogger Note: I hate SPIDERS just seeing this makes me sick. I can't believe Paul let it crawl on him, YUCK!
