Valley of Fire

Just so everyone is aware, it's me Paul writing, so if I emit something inappropriate or overly sarcastic I apologize. Kaytie and I Have been living in Mesquite for six months now and the most exciting thing we've done is go to Costco and Sportsman's Warehouse in St. George. I'm a pretty content person as long as there is a five dollar pizza close by. Kaytie on the other hand needs a little more thrill running through her veins to be content. For awhile we've been meaning to visit a state park close by called the Valley of Fire. I was a little reluctant to go, because we hadn't planned two weeks in advance, and I didn't think it would be that cool. Kaytie told be I had to be a big boy, suck it up and just go. We ended up having a fantastic time. Even though we didn't bring enough water, snacks or sunblock.

One of the problems with visiting a state park in the summer is it's over 100 degrees and there's no one around to take a picture for you, so we are stuck trying to figure out how to do it ourselves. I thought for sure I was going to take a shot of the bottom of our noses, and for a Harris male the bottom of the nose is never a subtle object. Despite my apprehensions, the picture didn't turn out all that bad. We even got some of the petroglyphs in the back ground, which was the objective in the first place.

So if you dare venture down to Mesquite for a visit be prepared to visit the Valley of Fire (after you have mooched your free round of golf off me). Just think, that could be you in those pictures!
